WHAT IS THROTTLE LAG?

When you first press down on the accelerator, there is a delay before anything actually happens. Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) systems cause this as they take the signal from the accelerator pedal when you press it and send it to the vehicle’s ECU. All of this process causes a delay called throttle lag. Besides, manufacturers deliberately leave the delay there because it makes the vehicle suitable for various types of drivers.

The basic steps of the Pedal Commander® installation are always the same regardless of the vehicle's make and model:

Turn off the ignition and wait 10-15 minutes with your driver's door open to allow your ECU to shut down.

Disconnect your accelerator pedal assembly plug, then plug in the heads to connectors on the Pedal Commander® harness.

Clean up the area where you want to mount the control unit with the alcohol wipe. Stick the bracket with the supplied velcro.

After you make sure the cables are secure and won't be tangled, you are ready to enjoy Pedal Commander®.

I had a 2019 Terrain & upgraded to an Acadia. After my lease was up I went back to a 2020 Terrain. I had so much more pedal response with the Acadia that when I went back to the Terrain, I hated how slow the “get up” was. I will admit I have a heavy foot & am a bit of an aggressive driver. Not unsafe, just a little zippy. The pedal commander has put the “zippy” back into my life. I took advice from other reviewers & agree that sport mode is too much. It makes the pedal too touchy & the car jerks too quickly but that could also be from my heavy foot. I have been going between city 1 setting & city 3 setting & love how this is more than enough “umph” for my little SUV. I’m so happy with my purchase & highly recommend for anyone who feels the same way about the “lag” on their Terrain. I feel like I’m back in the Acadia & that makes me enjoy driving my Terrain so much more.

I recently bought a 2011 GMC Terrain. It had marginal acceleration. With the Pedal Commander installed throttle response is noticeably improved when set in the city mode. I have mine set to Sport mode. It has an extra kick now, above what one would expect from a relatively old SUV. I tried the Sport+ mode. It is too much boost for an SUV. Most cars have weak throttle response to try to enhance gas mileage. I definitely recommend Pedal Commander to put some fun back into driving.

I give this product an enthusiastic 5 Stars. Um...holy crap! I had no idea how much of a difference this would make on a 2.0l turbo but it's night and day! The car feels like its gained significant torque in Sport mode but really it just moves the torque curve much lower in the RPM range. In city it still has more get up but is very smooth! I would recommend this product to anyone who looking for a relatively inexpensive way to gain performance and a ton of fun!

The greatest aftermarket device ever. It woke up the sleeping power in my car. In 25 minutes install time it delivered a new sport handling car. I keep it at city 3, otherwise it's a bit too responsive for daily driving. Worth every penny if you like it quick off the line. And who doesn't besides grandma.

I installed this in my 2015 Terrain Slt and what a difference it made. I run it in city 3 95% of the time with great responseand my mileage actually went up after I stopped playing race car with it (ymmv). I travel 390, 490 regularly and merging & passing is a breeze with no second thoughts. If you're on the fence about getting one, go for it, IMHO you wont be dissapointed.

A product that does exactly what it says! Used in my 2010 GMC Acadia and it took out all the hesitation when accelerating! You barley have to touch the gas pedal it’s great! It takes off so much faster and smoother now! And I have it set on city mode! Sport plus mode really makes it like a race car and imo to fast for every day driving! I would have gave it five stars but it is pretty pricey!

As for the product itself I thought it was a bit pricey, doesn't really fit on my dash anywhere in particular either but it does change the response of the throttle, can make the throttle touch with less lag or make the rpm float more gradually to make car more smooth and save fuel
